Why does my program have 100% survival, but it is not showing as a program with a dark green dial?
Dial icon assessments are based on the “expected” graft survival (or, more specifically, the “observed vs. expected” or hazard ratio).
The assessment applies a scoring function that determines the area under a curve. This total area under the curve gives us a value that determines the tier, and therefore, the dial color. Learn more about the scoring function.
Why is graft survival instead of patient survival important for the dial icon assessment?
Graft survival shows how many transplants were done at a program. In some cases, one recipient may have had more than one transplant over time and the data reflect this. This is important because graft survival includes all events that have an effect on the patient’s outcomes. A retransplant can factor into a recipient’s long-term survival as well.

Different centers may have different degrees of expertise to manage different patient medical conditions; therefore, each center determines what medical characteristics are appropriate for accepting a candidate to its waiting list. For example, not all centers are equally likely to place older age or overweight candidates on a waiting list.
Will some centers be hidden from the search results?
No, all adult transplant centers within the area determined by the zip code and search radius (if provided) will be shown. A center might appear in the search results even if the recent recipients do not match your medical characteristics. Centers that have transplanted only pediatric candidates will be omitted.
